Night Shift, Logistics and Transport Manager (officially known within the business as a Transport Front Line Manager), who has great team leadership, organisational and overall management skills is required for a well-established Company based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.

 

SALARY: up to £41,400 per annum (depending on experience) + Generous Benefits (See Below)

LOCATION: Stevenage, Hertfordshire

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 18:00 to 06:00, 4 nights on, 4 nights off

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Night Shift, Logistics and Transport Manager who has great team leadership, organisational and overall management skills.

Working as the Night Shift, Logistics and Transport Manager you will be a key member of the Transport Team and will ensure that Company products are delivered safely, on time and in full by providing leadership to the drivers on their shifts.

As the Night Shift, Logistics and Transport Manager, your priorities in this job will include operating safe and environmentally sound working conditions, driving health and safety improvements and engagement and compliance with transport law and Company policies and procedures.

You’ll also deliver great service and schedule adherence to customers, continuous improvement, optimising labour utilisation and operating to the Company Values will also be central to the role.

DUTIES

Your duties and responsibilities as the Night Shift, Logistics and Transport Manager:

  • Ensure the Night Shift Team members are focussed and organised for their deliveries to ensure all relevant KPI’s are met
  • Set clear goals, communicating effectively and developing trust with Night Shift Team members
  • Manage Drivers and Office Administrators
  • Promote and act as a role model for company values and brand image
  • Ensure shift compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Operate a safe and environmentally sound working environment
  • Optimise labour utilisation, making best use of the company’s scheduling system
  • Manage recruitment, training and development of Drivers and Administrators

 

IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • It would be desirable if the successful candidate is CPC qualified (or motivated and capable of achieving the qualification)
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess excellent team leadership and management qualities
  • PC literate with good numeracy and analytical skills
  • Previous experience in a busy transport logistics operation will be desirable
