Claims Handler – Motor Claims

We are currently recruiting for First Party Claims Handlers to join our established Motor Claims team based at our office in the town centre of Halifax.

 

The Role
This role involves taking calls from customers and third parties to register new claims and progress existing matters to a speedy conclusion. You will liaise with suppliers to ensure our customer’s needs are met and service levels adhered to, proactively taking on challenges and overcoming obstacles that may stop us meeting the high standards our customers expect of us.

You will be desk based dealing with customers and third parties on a one to one basis over the phone, although you will also work with other colleagues on site and be part of a team of driven and customer focussed people.

A comprehensive training programme is provided and we welcome applications from those not only with experience in Motor Claims/the insurance sector, but equally those looking to take their next steps in their career.

Based in our office in Dean Clough Mills in Halifax centre, you work 35 hours per week across 5 days on a rota basis between the hours of 8am – 8pm Monday – Friday & 8am – 4pm on Saturdays.

 

The Individual
• Previous motor or insurance claims knowledge and experience is desirable
• Customer service experience ideally in financial services industry, office or other service industry e.g. retail
• English GCSE (Grade C / 4 or above) or equivalent qualification
• Excellent written and oral English skills
• Have strong customer service skills both face to face and over the phone
• Able to multi task and prioritise your work whilst meeting business targets
• Confident working on a computer and working across a variety of in house systems (full training provided)

Halifax Office

The Halifax office is home to teams from Commercial Operations, Finance, Personal and Commercial Claims and provides excellent opportunities to build a long and fulfilling career in the Insurance sector. Based in the Dean Clough complex, the office benefits from an onsite staff deli, as well as a variety of other businesses based within the complex. These include cafes, restaurants, art gallery, bars, gym and hairdressers and more.

With parking options close by and the train station only 10 minutes’ walk away, the office is conveniently located only 5 minutes’ walk from the town centre.
